No one is a born leader so whenever the time comes and someone has to lead their side, team, company or office the skills that are needed must be immaculate and unfathomable.

If we consider the great city of Dubai and its ever growing corporate and business structure then we might agree that a good head, manager or boss should have some specific qualities to lead the team through all the ups and downs like kith and kin.

Every boss or manager has some good and bad qualities and the employees either get used to their qualities and if they don’t they walk off in search of another job.

Visionary Leadership Style:

As the word describes for itself, the significant traits of a visionary head are that the person will have his/her eyes set on the future regarding every aspect of the job and the whole system under it. The job depends on engaging the employees and injecting them with all the positivity and of where the company might land in the near future and where it is headed now.

Visionary heads promote and spread creativity, innovation, relations and learning to ring the workers on the same platform and share a common goal which is the main thing.

Coaching Leadership Style

Obviously the coaching head will look to put most of his effort and time in nurturing and building the skills, confidence, knowledge, and experience of his workers. Those who believe in coaching will give the employees thumbs up by saying “give it a try”.

Another thing common in this approach is that the boss may spend quite some time in educating a worker on how to answer a specific question instead of answering it themselves which takes only a few minutes.

Democratic Leadership Style

A head or boss who gives preference to solving problems and making changes before consulting his/her team members and subordinates for their suggestions, ideas and feedback is called as a democratic head. This style of leadership doesn’t encourage making decisions on one’s own and the boss feels uncomfortable while making decisions solely.

Coercive Leadership Style

A coercive leadership style is when the boss orders the employees what they need to do, how do they need to do it and when to do it. Coercive bosses want immediate agreement and fulfillment on time that too without any question asked. These bosses can be very annoyed and tough when the requirements are not fulfilled. Coercive style is a common style of leadership neither in the employees nor in the bosses.

Affiliative Leadership Styles

Affiliative style of leadership is the one where the boss cares dearly about the health and well-being of their workers. This is the ideal way of captaining the ship and leadership training programs in Dubai suggest it and empowers bosses with affiliative leadership training because there aren’t any conflicts amongst the team as well as between the team and the boss.

This style of leadership makes the employees feel valued and bosses appreciate and encourage them. A sense of peace and harmony is experienced in the workplace where this style is in practice.
